A weekend (un)conference to delve into the Hamming Questions of biology.

Named after the mathematician Richard Hamming, a Hamming Question asks: what are the most important problems in your field?

We are gathering 100 founders, explorers, researchers, and funders to delve into tractable, neglected, and important problems in bio x AI over a weekend, from March 15-17th, 2024, in San Francisco’s Lower Haight coliving campus The Neighborhood.

Our location

The Banister Freedom House is a community and gathering space near Alamo Square. Built in 1894, it survived the 1906 earthquake, became an orphanage, was lovingly restored by one of its adopted orphans, and then Scott and Cyan Banister bought it in 2012 and finished the renovations. With a capacity of 100 people, this spacious Victorian mansion will be the perfect backdrop for a weekend of stimulating discussions.
